Come Help Us Make A Difference!

We work vigorously throughout the ENTIRE YEAR to help raise funds for needy families living in Israel! We are writing to you today to solicit your support and participation in providing assistance for victims of terror, orphans, needy families, soldiers of the IDF, and Holocaust survivers who are struggling in Israel.

Each month throughout the year, the Jewish Assistance & Relief Network (JAR) provides close to 2,000 Food Cards for needy families in Israel with a minimum value of $80 to as much as $600, and during the holidays, the numbers go up to 5,000 families with assistance of at least $80 to help with the added holiday expenses.

1 in every 3 Children go to bed hungry in Israel! Sadly, these children live with fear and anxiety, not knowing when they will have food.

1,809,200  people are suffering from poverty; many of which lack food needed for their basic survival.

842,300 Children survive by either begging for money or on bread and spread alone!! 83% percent of children do not have dental care! Many have admitted that they have suicidal thoughts because of their desperate situation!

463,300 families in total are impoverished. Many shiver through winter, with no money for heating. Many parents forwent medical treatment in order to afford it for their children!

50% of needy children go to sleep hungry on a daily basis!!!

60% Of the parents had to cut down the food value from their children’s plate permeal as they were unable to supply 3 full meals a day for their children!!!

70% Of the parents had to forgo eating meals themselves for the sake of supplying the food to their children!!!!

Unfortunately there has also been a huge escalating rise in needy elderly.

We need YOU to help us make a difference!!! By acting now you are expressing your support and participation in providing assistance for orphans, needy families, soldiers of the IDF and holocaust survivors in Israel. 

Highlights of the Food Card Program:

Recipients are chosen by local Ministry of Welfare offices based on specified criteria; many families work, but are struggling to make ends meet. Some lost their jobs, family sickness, economic hardships caused by the war on terror, death, etc. where they shop with dignity, and are able to buy foods of their choice.

Pre-paid food debit cards accepted throughout Israel at any of the 400 Branches of Supersol, Blue Square National Supermarket, Machsanei HaShuk, Victory, Yeinot Beitan, and Shuk Mehadrin chain stores,

Families receive Our Food Cards are pre programmed so that families can only purchase basic food and household products, and exclude any purchase of cigarettes, alcohol, clothing, cosmetics, electronics, or gourmet foods.

Food Cards are issued for six months and sometimes extended for another six months if there are extenuating circumstances, giving families time to adapt to their new economic situation and to learn how to live within their means.

Recipient families are overseen by their local welfare officers with additional oversight by the Jewish Assistance Fund, the Israeli arm of JAR.

Cards are issued throughout the year, including during war and holidays.

Recipients come from all walks of life and from all over Israel with absolutely no discrimination, and include: orphans, single parent families, holocaust survivors, the elderly, soldiers of the IDF, and special needs children, etc.

Food Cards are programmed with different amounts based on donor specifications and recipient needs.

Our administrative budget in Israel is covered by the rebates we receive from the national retailers so that 100% of your donation goes directly to feed needy families. There is NO warehouse and logistical fees spent to cover packaging and distribution costs as families receive their cards in the mail and then go shop like all other citizens.
